PINK HAMMERS AT WORK
Ghana has a special place in my heart....and I have been working with Philip for a couple of years now. When I lost my job, I made myself a promise that when I found a new one- I would help Philip with his dream of having a bead shop...and well we did just that! Philip is managing the store and the beautiful jewlery you will see in our store. These pieces are made with love and dedication by Mrs Felicia Garma and Mrs Grace Adu Frimpong. It is with complete gratitude that we come together in building a business and helping the community...it just warms my pink heart! With every purchase it helps to fund future projects and pay the salary for the employees.
Kibera has a very special place in my heart. My experience two years ago was the catalyst for me to start my own City Chik projects. We built a great library with great love. As I managed that project with some of the locals in Kibera- I was empowered to live my hearts purpose and expand City Chik. I visited with friends I had made- I am beyond grateful for these relationships because they are in the purest form. We have some great jewerly in our shop from Gaz in Kibera. Gaz inspires children and teaches them about beadmaking. He is beyond an inspiration and I am honored to feature him and his work!
City Chik was in Korogocha is one of the large slums in Kenya during October/November! We had bought a piece of land to help expand the Light & Hope Daycare for Disabled Children. It is so exciting that we will be working alongside locals as we build this construction and help reshape the current state of the day care. Thanks to the pink hearts and wallets of many this will all be possible. These pictures are of the demolition phase. The children are amazing and loving...but there is much needed to help with the Light & Hope infrastructure. There is infinite potential when we come together. In our shop, you will find jewelry made by the students and volunteers..lets help support them!
